How it Works

Our online Conversation Course is tailored for those who seek flexibility and accessibility. Comprising two dynamic components, the Homestudy helps improve reading, vocabulary, comprehension, and listening skills—vital groundwork for engaging group discussions. Leveraging authentic material from English media, including The Guardian Newspaper, BBC, Wikipedia, TED Talks, Youtube, etc.

The Online component, conducted via Zoom, opens the doors to our unique method for individuals who can’t attend our classroom sessions due to work commitments or geographical constraints. Enjoy the convenience of enhancing your fluency from the comfort of your own home. Over sixty minutes, participants actively refine their speaking skills through paired discussions, fostering a collaborative and interactive learning experience.

Homestudy

authentic reading and listening material
vocabulary exercises
comprehesion questions
discussion questions (self-generated)
watch and listen to language in context
pause, rewind, or listen again to video exercises
work at your own pace (homstudy is avaiable 6 days in advance)

Online via Zoom

60 minutes dedicated to paired discussion
12 participants (minimum)
4 breakout rooms
begin with quick-fire paired discussions
change partner every 4-6 mins
continue with longer sessions of 10-15 mins each
aim to talk with each participant at least once every session

Who is this course for?

This Online Conversation Course is for language learners who want to improve their fluency in English. Participants must have a minimum level of B1 in English, be willing to dedicate two hours per week to homestudy, and take part in a weekly 60 minute group call via Zoom. The course is ideal for participants who can answer Yes to all the following statements

I want to improve my fluency in English

I can dedicate two hours each week to homework

I can commit one hour each week to a Zoom call

I learnt English at primary and/or secondary school

I’m more interested in improving fluency than learning grammar

What We Offer

We create beautiful lessons, built around video, that require engagement –not just attendance.

The Online Conversation Course is a 12 week programme. The programme consists of 11 thoughtfully designed Homestudy tasks and 12 online meetings via Zoom.

The combination of homestudy and real-time conversation enables participants to benefit from both passive and active learning.

The material used is designed to expose learners to a wide range of authentic voices and opinions.
